Ten separate councils sit inside Greater Manchester and each issues its own skip permits at its own price and notice period, so a job in Bolton and a job in neighbouring Bury are not the same booking, even a few miles apart. Whichever authority it falls under, the skip company must apply for the permit rather than the householder.
