Leicester's weekly skip licence
Leicester City Council charges £96.50 for the first week and £59 for each additional week for a skip on the highway, and asks for at least three working days' notice. The council covers the city itself; outside the boundary, Leicestershire County Council is responsible. Your supplier will usually apply, so check the quote says whether the licence is included and how many weeks it covers.
Weekly means timing matters
Because the fee runs by the week, a skip that stands for eight days pays for a first week plus an extra week. Have the work ready before the skip arrives and book the collection as soon as it's full.
Victorian terraces
Clarendon Park, Highfields and the streets off Narborough Road are dense terraces with little off-road space, so expect the skip to go on the road. A skip bag or a wait and load collection can be the better answer where parking is tight.
If you'd rather take waste yourself, vans and larger trailers need a permit and can only use the Gypsum Close site. For most clear-outs, a skip is simpler. The size guide helps you choose.
