Side view, drawn to scale. The yellow line is the fill line, which is the top edge — waste must sit level with it and never above.

Bin bags are a way to picture the space, not a restriction. Loose waste, timber, furniture, rubble and garden material all go straight in.
Load level with the fill line
Skips travel on the public highway and cannot legally be lifted if loaded above the fill line. If the driver has to refuse collection, a wasted journey charge of £85.00 + VAT applies and the skip stays with you until it is loaded correctly.
No upholstered seating — sofas, armchairs, padded dining and office chairs, futons, bean bags and cushions must go separately under the POPs rules. Plasterboard needs its own skip. No asbestos, gas cylinders, batteries, tyres, paint, oils, solvents, fridges or electricals. Full prohibited waste list
