Priced by the week
Sefton Council charges £23 per skip per week, or £43 per week in high congestion areas, with permits valid for up to 7 days. The skip owner gets the permit, and normally only one skip is allowed per site.
Lord Street and the Promenade
Sefton has 25 conservation areas, including Lord Street, the Promenade and Birkdale Park in Southport. Six are on the national Heritage at Risk Register, including Lord Street and the Promenade. Work in these areas often involves older buildings, so check placement with the supplier.
On the road
A skip on the highway needs at least four cones on the approach side and flashing amber lamps on each corner after dark, and its contents should be kept damp or covered. See the skip permit guide and skip hire across Merseyside.
